1. Public Safety & Community Trust

  • Support funding for police and fire departments while promoting community policing and regular public safety town halls.

  • Establish a Citizen Review Advisory Committee to build trust between residents and law enforcement.

  • Improve street lighting and public cameras in high-traffic areas to reduce crime and improve safety.

2. Neighborhood Revitalization

  • Launch "Clean Up Taylor" initiatives to reduce blight, clean vacant lots, and assist homeowners with minor home repairs.

  • Work with local developers to rehabilitate vacant properties instead of demolishing them whenever possible.

  • Expand code enforcement efforts while offering support for homeowners and landlords to meet city standards.

3. Infrastructure & Roads

  • Push for timely and transparent road repair projects with published timelines and public updates.

  • Apply aggressively for state and federal infrastructure grants, focusing on improving drainage, sidewalks, and major intersections.

  • Expand the sidewalk network to improve walkability and safe routes around the city..

4. Economic Development & Jobs

  • Create an Economic Opportunity Task Force to attract new businesses, especially in underutilized commercial areas like Eureka and Telegraph.

  • Promote partnerships with local unions, trade schools, and community colleges to grow skilled jobs right here in Taylor.

  • Incentivize small business growth with streamlined permitting and low-interest city-backed loans.

5. Parks, Youth, & Recreation

  • Invest in modernizing Heritage Park and expanding recreational opportunities across all neighborhoods.

  • Develop a Youth Advisory Council to give young residents a voice in city decisions.

  • Secure funding for more year-round programming at the community center and support local sports leagues.

  • Develop an outdoor fitness space for public use, to encourage healthy living and community support.

6. Affordable & Senior Housing

  • Work with housing partners to increase affordable housing options, especially for seniors and working families.

  • Implement a Property Tax Freeze Program for long-term senior homeowners living on fixed incomes.

  • Establish clearer guidelines and resources for renters and landlords to resolve disputes and ensure safe living conditions.

7. Transparency & Community Engagement

  • Continue to have all city council meetings live-streamed and archived online.

  • Launch a monthly newsletter to share council updates, budgets, and major decisions in plain language.

  • Introduce “Council in Your Neighborhood” pop-up sessions quarterly to make government more accessible.

8. Environmental Responsibility

  • Support green space expansion and urban tree planting initiatives.

  • Push for city-wide recycling improvements and education campaigns to reduce waste.

  • Explore feasibility of solar energy adoption for city buildings to lower costs and reduce emissions.

My vision for Taylor is one that honors our history while preparing boldly for the future. Together, we can create a city that works for everyone — safe, clean, fair, and full of opportunity.
